I am not sure what is so important about finding out Foley had sex with somone 21 years old. This is almost as bad as making a big deal over President Clinton and another adult. What should be noted is how often Republicans have tried to show themselves as some moral righteous party when they are human beings first who decision to belong to a party has no bearing on how godly they are. On top of that they attack people like the gay community as use the attacks to try and win elections to cover up other scandulous acts they commit. Republicans are hypocrates should be the headlines.

Each week I say this has been the worst week for democracy. But, I must say it again this week. I am sick and tired of hearing the right wing employ rhetoric extolling democratic values while pushing legislation that bretrays every democratic principle. I am afraid to see what they wil do next. The senator I am disapointed with the most is Senator Jay Rockefeller from West Virginia. He's not up for re-election this year. In addition I have received emails for Senator Stebanow form Michigan requesting money to help her win re-election. Why would I now? It seems like everyone sells out. Maybe there is some strategy I can't see.

Call your representatives today and encourage them to first, vote against passing this torture bill, and second, filabuster this bill.

1. Allow the President to detain anyone
2. Torture them
3. Never let them see a lawyer
4. Absolve the anyone who have committed these actions in the past.

Tahoma Progressive Media Conference

planning commitee met September 13 getting ready to change the media in the South Sound area with the conference which will take place October 7. The main areas targeted are roughly public access television, print media, the internet, documentaries and public radio. The path is being paved for the distibution of more accurate facts and destroying ignorance.

There is an small article on page one of the Buiness section of the The News Tribune this morning-Sept 12, 2006-about a service AT&T Inc. is offering where live cable can be seen via computers. Even though it's a three paragraph article it still makes me livid. It's the headline that gets my goat. It chooses O'Reilly as an option. This seems like free advertisement for the Fox pundint.
Okay, it does say that there are about 20 cable programs on the lineup, but seems as if they could have chosen more neutral channels like the Weather Channel or the Food Network. I already feel that TNT is biased to the right and I know that this was an Associated Press artilcle but it is just the idea of it all.
This is why I look forward to The Tahoma Media Conference coming October 7. We have a long way to go but we need to get busy.

Another weekend has come. I had a good time going door to door for Reprentative Tami Green who is up for re-election this year. She is quick to remind you that she only won by a little more than 200 votes last time. I have also been going door to door for Troy Kelley who is also running for Representative in the 28 District-Position 1. He will take the spot Gigi Talcott (R) is vacating. I am not certain if there has ever been two Democrats representing the 28th District but, I do know that this will be the first time in many years the 28th District will send two Democrats to Olympia. It's not going to be easy to get them elected however, it is possible. Tami, by the way, is position 2.
Let's not forget the "Tahoma Progressive Media Conference" coming October 7. This is a great effort to help wake up and educate the misinformed-people duped into voting Republican. The members of the "Tacoma Progressive Roundtable" -Pierce County- are striving hard to get the media distribution in Tacoma/Pierce County turned around.

Sorry to be away so long. A lot has happened this week. I have noticed that the closer we get toward election the more the right is fighting back. Form the White House to the Media. Not to mention talk shows. I have gotten in discussion with several people in the last two weeks who are obvious right winged media listeners. It's amazing they buy the cramp and then tell it to you like it's their own thoughts.

This morning I was listening to "The Thom Hartman Show" which airs on AirAmerica via AM1090 in Seattle.Thom Hartman recalled that when NBC new Anchor, Brian Williams was getting ready to take Tom Brokavs place he was asked what was his news source. According to the Hartman, Williams said it was his patriotic duty to listen to Rush Limbaugh every day. I haven't been able to get this thought out of my head. It certainly explains why most news segmenst (especially NBC's) are edited the way they are and why they avoid going in the direction which exposes the truth of this secretive administration. I am glad there is someone like Thom Hartman who keeps up with facts like this which would otherwise been lost. Who are we listening to when we listen to the news?

Well! I noticed today that "TNT" , or The News Tribune, did an article on McGavin this morning. To be fair I didn't read the whole article but, I still find it curious. Also, has anyone given any thought to lost stories which seem to have gone unanswered ie. the mother of the soldier form Crawford Texas, the opening of the Downey street memos, NSA spying etc; while in the meantime the news is covering the whereabouts of JonBenets Ramsey's alleged killer on a day to day bases with such stories as "the plane landed in Colorado with Karr aboard". What a waste!
